Parents, municipal and  community leaders upon realizing the need for fostering a dialogue related to rural schools gathered to combine efforts and strengthen their collective voice.

​The first Ontario Rural Education Symposium was held in November 2016 in Parkhill.

Building upon the success of the first Symposium, future events are planned. ​

Zorra Local School Advisory Committee (ZLSC)

​The purpose of the Zorra Local School Committee is to provide advice to Council regarding opportunities for the Township of Zorra to maximize economic development, and the ability to attract and retain residents, by developing a "School Retention Plan” in accordance with the Township’s Strategic Plan.  The ZLSC will also identify current and future opportunities to support youth in Zorra Township by enhancing the relationship between the Township of Zorra and its schools and thereby improving student well-being, and increased programme options.
